BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Med Center Health is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2026 Summer Teen Ambassador Program.

According to Med Center Health, this program offers high school students a unique opportunity to explore careers in healthcare, while making a meaningful difference through volunteer service. The Teen Ambassador Program runs from June 15 – July 24. The application is open to all high school students, including 2026 graduating seniors, Med Center Health says.

Med Center says students accepted into the program will commit to volunteer a minimum of one shift per week.

Since its launch in 2022, the Summer Teen Ambassador Program has provided students with hands-on exposure to the healthcare environment through volunteerism and job shadowing at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Participants are organized into groups and rotate through various hospital departments, gaining insight from both clinical and administrative professionals. Along the way, they support patients, staff, and visitors, playing an important role in the hospital’s day-to-day operations.

“This program allows students to work alongside healthcare professionals in different departments, gaining a deeper understanding of the career paths available in healthcare,” said Sarah Widener, community wellness director. “Students will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience and meet a variety of professionals across a wide range of roles.”
