Air Evac 62 celebrates 20 years of service in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Wednesday afternoon, Air Evac 62 celebrated 20 years of service to Bowling Green and southern Kentucky.

Since 2006, Air Evac 62 has served the Bowling Green and surrounding areas, ensuring the safety of their patients and making sure that they return home to their loved ones.

Members of the community, Med Center Health and public officials, such as Judge Executive Doug Gorman and State Rep. Kevin Jackson were in attendance.

Jackson told a story about a time when Air Evac 62 helped his family in a time of crisis, transporting his son from Smiths Grove to Louisville after losing three fingers in an accident. By getting him to Kleinert and Kutz, they were able to save two of his fingers.

Gorman read a proclamation during the event, dedicating May 13, 2026 as Air Evac 62 Day in Bowling Green.

In the two decades Air Evac 62 has been in Bowling Green, they have spread throughout southern Kentucky and even into parts of Tennessee. This was done to ensure that rural regions of the state will be taken care of in a crisis situation.

We’ve got helicopters in Lafayette Tennessee, Breckenridge County Kentucky, Hopkinsville Kentucky, Clarksville Tennessee, and Campbellsville, Kentucky. We strategically placed them where their service area overlaps, where if there’s more than one aircraft needed, if we have a big wreck on the interstate, we can get to those people in a timely fashion,” said Bob Rowland, program manager at Air Evac 62.

Congratulations to Air Evac 62 on 20 years of dedicated service to the Bowling Green and surrounding areas.
