Agricultural loan of $250,000 to benefit Metcalfe County

FRANKFORT, Ky. – An agricultural loan in the amount of $250,000 is set to go to Metcalfe County.

According to a release by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, the Beginning Farmer Loan is part of eight of the loans that were recently approved in Kentucky, totaling up to $1,565,453.

The loans go to those that have some farming experience and want to expand or buy into a farming operation, the release says.

The other counties gaining Beginning Farmer Loans include Ballard, Calloway, Fleming, Graves, Perry and Wayne counties.

The funds can be used to purchase or finance livestock, equipment or agriculture facilities; to secure permanent working capital; for the purchase of farm real estate or to invest in a partnership or LLC.

Additional loans granted included Two Diversification through Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness loans to Marshall and Pulaski counties.
