After filming in Cave City, ‘The Gunslingers’ enters post-production
CAVE CITY, Ky. – Stars Nicolas Cage, Heather Graham and Steven Doroff stayed in downtown Glasgow, filming “The Gunslingers,” directed by Brian Skiba.
The filming brought great exposure for Cave City and benefited Barren County economically by having the crew stay throughout.
The project was recruited by the Southern Kentucky Film Commission.
Filming took place in Barren County and select dates in Hart County and one day in Edmonson County.
The Jesse James Riding Stable, Guntown Mountain, and Horse Cave will be featured in a Hollywood blockbuster. Farms throughout Edmonson County were also used for shots.
Locals were able to sign up and be extras in scenes directed by Brian Skiba.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of what I believe will go down as a classic Western,” producer Randall Batinkoff said.
Most of the acting crew and production stayed in Cave City.
The early 1900’s Western era film is set to be released in January 2025.
