ACSO K-9 receives protective vest after donation

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The Allen County Sheriff’s Office has received a protective vest for a member of its team – meet K-9 Sulley.
According to a Facebook post on Tuesday, the sheriff’s office gained the vest due to a donation from nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
The post says the potentially lifesaving vest protects against both bullet and stab wounds.
The sheriff’s office says each vest is valued at $1,800 and weighs an average of 4 to 5 pounds.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. supplies bullet and stab protective vests and other help to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the nation, according to the post.
K-9 Sulley’s vest was sponsored by Barry Richards of Exit Realty of Franklin and embroidered with the sentiment “Gifted by Barry & Rebecca Richards, Exit Realty.”
