SMITHS GROVE, Ky. – Early Thursday morning, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Marathon gas station in Smiths Grove after reports of shots fired and a potential burglary.

She then broke out another window and fled using a large piece of glass as a weapon, according to Hightower.

The sheriff’s office states that while outside in the parking lot, she tried to get into the deputy’s cruiser but failed, so started hitting the hood.

Then she ran toward the roadway and a deputy attempted get the shard of glass out of her hands, according to the sheriff, and May swung it at the deputy.

“Definitely very frustrating it’s not something that we think would happen in such a small town like Smiths Grove Fire Chief. home and we love everyone here she was from outside of town so she was in from here but we’re just glad everyone’s safe and no one‘s hurt and that we were able to get here and the cops are able to take care of everything on their side,” said Parekh.

During the struggle, May was tased twice.

May was placed into custody, and the firearm was found on her person, according to Hightower.

May was transported to The Med Center for the treatment of severe lacerations to the hands and Hightower says she is lucky to be alive with all of the gasoline, fire and injuries.
