Propane tanker crashed spilling propane

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A tanker full of more than 2,000 gallons of propane overturned this afternoon in Warren County and began to leak.

According to officials on the scene, the liquid propane began to leak in the form of extremely flammable gas into the air on Hayes Road.

Management with Blossman Gas and Appliance were on the scene quickly and got the valves turned off to the propane, stopping the leak.

The Alvaton Volunteer Fire Department along with Bowling Green Fire Department, Warren County Emergency Management and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and helped with the cleanup process.

First responders worked together quickly to handle a situation that could have been much worse, according to Travis Puckett, deputy director of Warren County Emergency Management.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital and his condition was not available to the media.
