WASHINGTON (AP) — The top White House cybersecurity official says authorities are still working to unravel the likely Russian hack of U.S. government agencies and companies. Anne Neuberger says a task force has identified nine federal agencies and about 100 private companies that were breached by what she called a “sophisticated” actor. The newly appointed national security adviser for cyber and emerging technology told reporters Wednesday that the the malicious software used in the breach could be used to launch additional intrusions. Neuberger said at the White House that will take time to fully determine the full scale of the breach and decide on the response.
