Smashing success: Djokovic beats Zverev, into Australian SF

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Novak Djokovic has erased deficits in each of the last two sets and come back to beat Alexander Zverev to reach the Australian Open semifinals for the ninth time. The top-ranked Djokovic won in four sets after dropping the opener in a tiebreaker. Zverev was a point away from forcing the match to a fifth set but he failed to convert that chance. Djokovic wound up winning another tiebreaker to end it and move closer to a ninth championship at Melbourne Park and 18th Grand Slam trophy overall. Both men wore tape on their midsections to help with abdominal issues.
