Three local groups receive grants from the USDA

The United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Kentucky State Director Hilda Legg and Congressman Brett Guthrie announced today the Trump administration is investing $84,606 to a Bowling Green-based business called Connected Nation.

This money will help provide online jobs and business coaching to veterans and their families.

Img 3249Legg also announced that the USDA is granting $50,000 to help improve physical security at the Brownsville City Hall. These security measures include steel doors, door releases with ID badges for controlled access, bullet-proof glass enclosures, and security software with cameras and data protection.

Another grant of $250,000 went to Chaney’s Dairy Barn to diversify their product line, expand the customer base and increase the value of milk they produce by processing and marketing their products.Img 3271

These grants are coming from the Value-Added Producer Grant, the Additional Supplemental Appropriations for Disaster Relief Act, and the Rural Business Development Grant.
