Bowling Green High School holds unique graduations

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – While COVID-19 has greatly affected ceremonies and gatherings worldwide, Bowling Green High School did not let their seniors walk away without an official graduation ceremony.
Beginning May 17, the graduates of Bowling Green High School have individually graduated in a unique way.
The students had the opportunity to sign the senior wall, take a last lap throughout the school and walk across the stage to receive their diplomas.
When not taking pictures, graduates and guests wore masks and remained socially distant.
Despite these major differences from a traditional ceremony, this quarantined graduation allowed the students to officially complete their senior year.
“This graduation has really made it special because I know a lot of schools have just been postponing things like that, but I honestly really enjoyed our version of graduation because it allowed us to get closure and the different opportunities that they had,” graduate Becca Geron said.
The graduating seniors will also be attending an online commencement this Sunday, where the top five honors graduates will give a speech. There will also be small clips from each graduates’ individual ceremony.
