Derek Gregory joined WNKY News 40 as a studio technician in November 2025 before moving into a reporter role in July 2026.
Broadcasting goes back much further for him. It started early. At 14, Derek landed his first job at WFLW-AM in his hometown of Monticello, Kentucky.
He went on to spend nearly 22 years at Christian Family Radio, taking on several roles along the way. He’s best known for his time as Program Director and co-host of “Mornings with Derek & Bridget.” During his years as Program Director, the station was twice named Station of the Year by the Kentucky Broadcasters Association.
Derek was also named Best Local Radio Personality by the Bowling Green Daily News in 2024.
Now at WNKY, he covers stories across South Central Kentucky, from breaking news and community events to people whose stories might otherwise go untold. Derek believes everyone has a story worth telling — especially those who may not think their life or experiences are interesting enough to matter.
After a lifetime around microphones he brings the conversational style that shaped his years in radio to television news.
