2 dead after reported house fire in Scottsville

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Two people have died after a reported house fire in Scottsville early Monday.

According to the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force, around 2:48 a.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to a reported house fire at 54 Turkey Foot Lane in Scottsville.

Upon arrival, authorities say they confirmed the fire led to the deaths of Martha J. Hammerson and Bruce A. Hammerson.

The Scottsville Fire Department, South Allen Fire Department, East Allen Fire Department, Adolphus Fire Department, EMS and Allen County Rescue Squad responded to the scene.

At this time, authorities say no foul play is suspected. The circumstances surround the fire and deaths remain under investigation.

The investigation is being conducted by the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force, Scottsville Fire Department and Allen County Coroner’s Office.
