TAYLOR COUNTY, Ky. – A Taylor County woman faces fraud charges after allegedly stealing from her former employer.
According to Kentucky State Police Public Affairs Officer Trooper Jonathan Houk, investigators received a report in Aug. 2026 of an employee allegedly stealing funds from Phoenix Way.
KSP says 38-year-old Amanda Atwood, of Campbellsville, was employed by the company to oversee its payroll.

Atwood allegedly stole over $160,000 from the business.
Houk says the investigation was presented to the Taylor County Grand Jury in Oct. 2026 and returned an indictment on Atwood.
Atwood is charged with 96 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, 34 counts of second-degree forgery, 1 count of theft by unlawful taking – $10,000 to $1,000,000, and 1 count of theft of identity.
She was lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
