CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A years-long investigation has resulted in one man being convicted in connection with a homicide case in Clarksville, Tennessee.

According to a social media post by the Clarksville Police Department on Wednesday, on January 20, 2021, officers responded to a home on Westwood Drive in the Sango area, where Rachel Konen and her father, David Rodgers, were found dead.

Police say on October 8, 2026, Matthew Konen was convicted of criminally negligent homicide in Rachel Konen’s death and first-degree murder in Rodgers’ death.

The Clarksville Police Department says Detective Bruce Kilby, the lead homicide investigator in this case, “remained committed to this case throughout the years it took to work through the justice system.”

The agency continued, stating, “A case like this doesn’t come together overnight, and it’s never the work of just one person. It begins with the officers who first respond, continues with the Crime Scene Unit carefully documenting the scene and collecting evidence, and carries on through the hours of investigative work that follow. Detective Kilby’s tenacity, attention to detail, and commitment kept this case moving forward, even when the road was long. We also recognize District Attorney Robert Nash and Assistant District Attorney West for their work in prosecuting the case.”

Additional details in the case have not been released at this time.
