MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. – Three people are facing charges after reported drug busts in McCracken and Ballard counties.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, a joint investigation with the Ballard County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the seizure of over three pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of over $30,000.

Deputies say the investigation launched when McCracken County detectives developed information indicating multiple individuals had allegedly been involved in trafficking methamphetamine through several western Kentucky counties.

Authorities say this led to a traffic stop on Interstate 24 in McCracken County.

According to authorities, the driver was identified as 35-year-old Donald “Mark” Hannan of Wickliffe, while the passenger was identified as Samantha Brugger of Smithland.

During this time, deputies say a McCracken County Sheriff’s Office K-9 gave a positive alert to the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle.

Authorities say they conducted a search and located methamphetamine in the vehicle, along with additional methamphetamine in Brugger’s purse and currency believed to be from illegal drug sales.

Hannan and Brugger were arrested and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

As the investigation continued, deputies say a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 2800 block of Tabor Road in Wickliffe.

During the search, authorities say they found over three pounds of methamphetamine, along with digital scales and other drug paraphernalia near roughly 40 guns.

Thirty-two-year-old Laken Conyers of Wickliffe was arrested in connection with this investigation and transported to the Ballard County Jail.

Hannan is charged with careless driving, trafficking in methamphetamine, second or greater offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brugger faces charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, second or greater offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Conyers is charged with firearm-enhanced trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
