Multiple units respond to combine fire in Warren County

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Multiple units responded to a combine fire in Warren County Friday evening.
According to the Warren County Fire Department System, Smiths Grove and Gott crews were dispatched to a combine fire involving a John Deere X9, the largest combine manufactured by John Deere.
The department says an X9 is approximately 14 feet tall and 11 feet wide, with an overall width of approximately 41 feet with the header attached.
Crews say they used nearly 6,000 gallons of water and 5 gallons of foam concentrate to extinguish the fire and mitigate the threat of flames spreading into the surrounding wheat field.
During suppression operations, first responders say a rear tire failed, propelling a section of tire approximately 300 feet into the wheat field.
