Bowling Green man charged with wanton endangerment, assault

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing multiple charges after an alleged incident at a local bar early Thursday.
According to a uniform citation, around 12:35 a.m., Bowling Green police responded to The Dusty Boot at 927 College St. regarding a reported suspicious incident.
Police say a victim stated they had been punched in the face while seated at a bar.
Authorities say witnesses stated a male subject, identified as 35-year-old Corey Ward of Bowling Green, assaulted the victim in the bar.
According to police, those same witnesses stated Ward was escorted out of the business and began to walk down College Street. Authorities say witnesses stated Ward then loaded a handgun before pointing it in their direction.
After police viewed surveillance video and conducted interviews, Ward was arrested.
Authorities say a handgun was buried in mulch near Ward’s residence.
Ward remains at the Warren County Regional Jail. He faces charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, fourth-degree assault (minor injury) and tampering with physical evidence.
