Bowling Green man charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is behind bars after a gun allegedly fired within a home.

According to a uniform citation, Bowling Green officers responded early Sunday to a residence on Wiltshire Street for a report of a man who shot a gun in the home.

Authorities say three males stated they removed a gun, a loaded magazine and a spent shell casing from 22-year-old Kosaki Phillips of Bowling Green.

Officers say it was reported Phillips “pointed the firearm at the homeowner and other males.”

According to the citation, the homeowner grabbed the pistol and tried to take it from Phillips.

Authorities say during this incident, the gun allegedly went off in the living room.

Phillips was detained. Officer say they found a single bullet hole in the living room.

Phillips was placed into custody. He was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for clearance before being taken to the Warren County Regional Jail.

He faces charges of first-degree wanton endangerment – discharge of a firearm and discharge of firearms unlawful.
