Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce announces Leadership Bowling Green Class of 2027
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce is announcing the 35 participants selected for the Leadership Bowling Green Class of 2027.
Leadership Bowling Green is a community leadership program that gives class members a window into knowledge, connections and inspiration needed to impact Bowling Green and Warren County, organizers say.
According to the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, the program has been around since 1985 and has shaped over 1,100 alumni.
This year’s program kicked off on Aug. 20 with an orientation session at the chamber and a public introduction of the Class of 2027 during Rise and Shine.
Over the next 10 months, the chamber says participants will take part in two retreats and seven program days designed and led by Leadership BG Alumni.
Through hands-on experience in healthcare, education, local and state governments, judicial systems, economic development and more, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the community.
Class of 2027 Program Chair Joe Morel (2010 alumni) stated, “Leadership Bowling Green is about connecting a diverse group of leaders and giving them the opportunity to learn more about our community. As an alumnus, I know firsthand the value of the relationships, experiences, and perspectives this program provides. Now as Program Chair, I’m honored to help create those same opportunities. Strong communities depend on engaged, informed, and connected leaders, and Leadership Bowling Green plays an important role in developing those individuals right here at home. We are excited to welcome this new class and look forward to seeing how they use this experience to help make Bowling Green an even stronger place to live, work, and grow.”
Sandra Baker, vice president of talent and workforce for the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, added, “Leadership is about more than what we do in our workplaces – it’s about how we contribute to the community around us. For over four decades, Leadership Bowling Green has given participants the opportunity to step outside of their day-to-day roles, gain a broader perspective of our community, and connect with people who share a commitment to making a difference.
