Man charged with DUI after nearly hitting vehicle in Bowling Green, troopers say

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man is facing charges after authorities say he nearly hit a vehicle while driving under the influence in Bowling Green.

According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police observed a vehicle crossing over the center line several times on Campbell Lane around 3 a.m. Sunday. Authorities say the vehicle nearly caused a collision.

Trooper say they stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as 21-year-old Kevin Giron Perez of Bowling Green.

Authorities say the smell of alcoholic beverages was emitting from the vehicle.

According to authorities, Giron Perez stated he had three shots about two hours prior.

Troopers say following Standard Field Sobriety Testing, Giron Perez’s preliminary breath test measured at .146.

Giron Perez was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail. He faces charges of reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense, no operators – moped license, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle prohibited and second-degree wanton endangerment.
