2 charged after allegedly living in Bowling Green home for sale

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two people are behind bars after allegedly living in a home for sale in Bowling Green.
According to a uniform citation, shortly before 9 a.m. on Sunday, deputies responded to a residence on Jenkins Road regarding an active burglary.
Authorities say the caller stated a neighbor had contacted him and stated that 31-year-old Justin Meredith of Bowling Green had broken into the residence.
Deputies say upon arrival, they noticed a chain at a gate had been cut.
Authorities say, with permission, they entered the residence and located three females, along with Justin Meredith.
Justin Meredith was detained. Deputies say Justin Meredith stated he owned the property and could prove it, providing what appeared to be a forged document.
Authorities say Justin Meredith further stated he had been living there with the other individuals for nearly a month. He also claimed to own two vehicles on site, authorities say, even though they were not registered to him.
Deputies say the realtor confirmed the property had not been sold.
As a result, Justin Meredith, along with one of the female subjects, 36-year-old Brittnee Meredith, were arrested.
Both remain at the Warren County Regional Jail.
Justin Meredith faces charges of second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree forgery.
Brittnee Meredith is charged with second-degree burglary.
