Man arrested after vehicle pursuit in Lyon County

LYON COUNTY, Ky. – One man is facing charges after a reported vehicle pursuit in Lyon County over the weekend.
According to the Kentucky State Police, on Saturday around 2:45 p.m., troopers received a call regarding a two-vehicle injury collision on Interstate 24 westbound near the 50-mile marker in Lyon County.
Authorities say they were told a vehicle involved had left the scene and continued traveling on I-24.
According to authorities, one trooper saw the vehicle that had left the scene traveling just west of the exit for Kentucky 293.
Authorities say the trooper attempted a traffic stop near the exit for U.S. 62. The driver, identified as 55-year-old Richard Rogers of Nashville, Tennessee, then exited onto U.S. 62 before turning right onto Majors Loop and returning to U.S. 62.
Troopers say Rogers continued eastbound before turning onto Goodman Road.
According to authorities, he then reached the end of the road onto private property, where he tried to turn around before becoming stuck in a pond on the property. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Rogers was arrested and faces charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of substance, leaving the scene of an accident, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, disregard traffic control device, following another vehicle too closely, driving too fast for conditions, speeding 25 miles per hour over the limit, operating on a suspended/revoked license, driving without a license – negligent in an accident, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespassing and reckless driving.
He was additionally served with a pre-existing warrant for driving under the influence.
