LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – One man is behind bars following a multi-county pursuit that ended in Warren County on Saturday.

According to a uniform citation, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department measured a vehicle traveling at 96 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone on 68 East and Sugar Maple on Saturday night.

Authorities say the driver was identified as 19-year-old Kap Lian of Bowling Green.

Deputies say they attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however, the vehicle reached 131 mph.

According to authorities, the vehicle eventually crossed into Warren County while being measured at 130 mph.

Authorities say when the vehicle passed through a light at Morehead Road and 68 East, Lian surrendered by stopping in the median.

Lian was taken into custody without incident. According to deputies, Lian stated he had just left his National Guard unit in Hopkinsville and was going home to Bowling Green to pick something up. Authorities say Lian stated he was driving fast to make it back to the armory.

Lian was transported to the Logan County Detention Center, where he has since been released.

He faces charges of speeding 26 mph or greater over the speed limit, reckless driving, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, driving too fast for traffic conditions and first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle).
