Maryland man allegedly leads police on high-speed pursuit through multiple counties

HODGENVILLE, Ky. – The Hodgenville Police Department arrested a Maryland man following a multiple-county pursuit.

According to a release, an HPD officer initiated a traffic stop early Monday morning after observing a vehicle speeding on Lincoln Parkway.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 46-year-old Deondrick K. Davis, of Baltimore, Maryland.

Officers say they detected the odor of suspected marijuana inside Davis’ vehicle and attempted to search. Davis did not exit the vehicle and fled the scene in his vehicle toward Kentucky Highway 120.

Davis allegedly ignored traffic signals during the high-speed pursuit, which continued onto Hwy 120 until he parked his vehicle at a home on Laten Drive in Campbellsville.

Davis was arrested without further incident. He is charged with fleeing or evading police, 1st degree (motor vehicle), wanton endangerment-1st degree-police officer, operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license, disregarding a stop sign, disregarding a traffic control device, traffic light, speeding 26 mph over/greater, reckless driving and possession of marijuana.

The Larue County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, and Campbellsville Police Department assisted the Hodgenville Police Department in the pursuit.

The investigation is ongoing.
