Florida man allegedly steals merchandise, pushes employee at Adair County business

COLUMBIA, Ky. – A Florida man allegedly stole merchandise from an Adair County store.

According to the Columbia Police Department, officers responded to Walmart on Burkesville Road at 9:16 am to a reported robbery.

CPD says a man allegedly concealed, unpaid purchases inside the store. He allegedly pushed an employee while attempting to exit the store.

Officers say they located the man at a nearby business and arrested him.

The suspect is 28-year-old Ja’Michael Antonio Butler, of Lauderhill, Florida.

Butler is charged with second-degree robbery. He was lodged at the Adair County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
