Hardin County man charged in child exploitation investigation

VINE GROVE, Ky. – A Hardin County man is facing child exploitation charges following an undercover internet investigation.

Twenty-five-year-old Nicholas Ray Renfro was arrested by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch Thursday.

Renfro allegedly possessed and shared images of child sexual abuse materials online.

KSP Electronic Crime Branch executed a search warrant at a home in Vine Grove and seized the equipment used in the alleged crimes.

Renfro is currently charged with ten counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old and ten counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old.

He is now lodged at the Breckinridge County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
