BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Tennessee-based SweetMilk Breakfast & Lunch is opening a location in Bowling Green on Tuesday, May 12.

According to a release by the company, SweetMilk Breakfast & Lunch will open its doors at The Hub, located in south Bowling Green off of Lovers Lane. Starting Tuesday, customers can walk in daily from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The company says it is built from the history and vision of Nashville restauranteur and founding partner Pat Martin, with its flagship restaurant in Tennessee.

Bowling Green will mark the restaurant’s second location, according to the release.

“I’ve always loved Bowling Green because I’m a big Chevy guy, and with Corvette calling it home, I’ve always had a spot in my heart for this town,” says Martin. “Our local operating partner, Gabe Gyorgy, is a proud resident of Bowling Green, and a vibrant, up-and-coming college town is a natural fit for where we see SweetMilk thriving. Choosing this as our second location just made sense and more than anything, it’s a place where our team is genuinely excited to live, work, and grow.”

According to the company, it takes its name from an old, southern nickname for whole milk, an item always found in the fridge of Martin’s grandmother, Nonie Sue. The company says it is an ode to her cooking and memories of home-cooked meals.

The menu includes from-scratch southern dishes, including hand-cut, cast iron-baked biscuits, according to the restaurant.

Martin’s concepts in the restaurant industry include barbecue at Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint, burgers at Hugh Baby’s BBQ & Burger Shop and biscuits at SweetMilk, the release says.

According to the restaurant, SweetMilk’s items will be available for dine-in, carryout, online ordering and third-party delivery.
