Warren County Sheriff’s Office announces next traffic safety checkpoint date
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office released the date for the next active traffic safety checkpoint Thursday.
Sheriff Brett Hightower says the checkpoint will be active on May 22 between 8:30 pm and 12:00 am at four possible locations.
- 9200 Block Nashville Road
- 6000 Block Cemetery Road
- 2000 Block Richardsville Road
- 8000 Block Smiths Grove Scottsville Road
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) say studies show that traffic safety checkpoints reduce alcohol-related traffic crashes by about 20 percent. They say another study shows that the checkpoints reduce all crashes by 10 to 15 percent.
