SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The City of Scottsville provided an update on a water tank restoration project Monday.

According to a release, phase two of the water tank restoration project at the Sumitomo water tank will begin in the summer.

The water tank has a capacity of 300,000 gallons.

The city says this is “another step in the City of Scottsville’s infrastructural maintenance and restoration program.”

According to the release, GRW Engineering reviewed and recommended the winning bid for the project. The city council approved the project.

Phase one included the restoration of the White Plains water, which was completed in Fall 2021.

The City of Scottsville says the total cost of the project is estimated to be $6.8 million.

In the release, the city states the project is “a significant investment into our aging infrastructure, and we will continue to move forward on other initiatives in maintenance and improvements in all areas of our existing utilities infrastructure.”
