Owensboro man charged in steroid trafficking investigation

OWENSBORO, Ky. – An Owensboro man is charged following an investigation into the trafficking of steroids.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says Special Investigations Unit (SIU) detectives arrested 41-year-old Ryan Lehan, of Owensboro, as he was attempting to ship drugs at a business on April 24.
DCSO SUI began investigating Lehan after receiving tips about his alleged involvement in trafficking illegal substances.
Detectives set up controlled purchases of anabolic steroids with Lehan, authorities say.
On April 24, detectives were conducting surveillance on Lehan and approached him at the business while allegedly attempting to ship the steroids. Detectives say they discovered suspected steroids in Lehan’s possession.
Following Lehan’s arrest, DCSO SUI obtained a search warrant for his home on Carpenter Drive, where they found suspected anabolic steroids and trafficking equipment inside a vehicle and in the apartment.
Lehan is charged with second-degree trafficking a controlled substance – anabolic steroids (armed enhancement), first-offense, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance – anabolic steroids and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess (armed enhancement).
Lehan was lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
