OAK GROVE, Ky. – An Ohio man is charged after allegedly scamming a victim out of thousands of dollars.

According to a social media post, the Oak Grove Police Department and the Forest Park Police Department in Ohio collaborated to serve a warrant and arrest a 54-year-old Felix Kouame, of Cincinnati.

Police say Kouame scammed an Oak Grove resident out of $2,600 by posing as “Apple Support.” Kouame allegedly asked the victim to send the money via Cash App to activate an “Apple business account.”

Authorities say Kouame is involved in a scheme that uses fake social media accounts to contact multiple victims.

Kouame allegedly asks for small donations and instructs victims to set up Apple Pay business accounts to send him more money.

Koumae was arrested and lodged at the Christian County Jail. He is charged with theft by deception over $1,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
