Kentucky Legal Aid’s expungement clinic in Hart County
HART COUNTY, KY.- People have a past record they would like to clear, Kentucky Legal Aid is offering an opportunity to help.
The organization is hosting an expungement clinic aimed at giving people a second chance by removing eligible charges from their record.
Having a criminal record can impact several areas of life, including job opportunities, housing options and access to government assistance.
“The third reason, and this is an important one, is that many people say that’s just not who they are anymore,” said Sam Lowe, a staff attorney with Kentucky Legal Aid. “They may have a charge from 20 years ago, and while they’ve moved on with their lives, it’s still hanging over them. They want a fresh start.”
The expungement clinic will be held April 23 at the Hart County Public Library in Munfordville. Organizers say they will assist individuals with Class C and Class D felonies.
