Illinois man arrested after crash involving grain truck in Ballard County

BALLARD COUNTY, Ky. – One man is facing charges after allegedly fleeing police from a wreck in Ballard County.
According to a uniform citation, the Ballard County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched Feb. 13 to a reported collision at the 12-mile marker on Paducah Road in La Center.
Authorities say Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement had apprehended the individual, identified as 56-year-old Christopher Lovies of Marion, Illinois.
Authorities say the collision had involved an overturned grain truck and a pickup truck that had left the road.
While on scene, the pickup driver, Lovies, had attempted to run from the scene, authorities say.
Lovies was arrested and faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense, first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid, first-degree wanton endangerment and operating on a suspended/revoked license.
Lovies was transported to the Ballard County Jail.
