Motorcyclist sustains life-threatening injuries in Glasgow crash, flown for treatment

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Sunday.
According to a release, officers responded to the intersection of Columbia Avenue and Shangri-La Place to an injury accident.
GPD’s preliminary investigation indicates that an SUV, driven by James Smith, was traveling northbound on Columbia Avenue and attempted to make a left turn onto Shangri-La Place.
Police say Smith failed to yield to a motorcycle operated by Joseph McKenzie.
McKenzie sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to TJ Samson Community Hospital and later flown to Skyline Hospital, according to the release.
GPD says no other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
