NWS preliminary investigation indicates EF-1 tornado in Grayson, Hardin and Meade counties

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – According to a report, the National Weather Service’s preliminary investigation indicates that an EF-1 tornado went through Grayson, Hardin and Meade counties on Sunday evening, following a storm survey on Monday.
NWS says the tornado was first reported in Caneyville in Grayson County, with estimated max winds of between 100mph and 110mph.
The tornado continued through areas of Hardin and Meade Counties.
Several reports of damage were reported in the three counties.
An EF-1 category tornado is classified as reaching between 86 and 110mph.
Area residents and first responders assisted NWS in its storm survey.
NWS will be conducting a storm survey in Logan and Warren counties on Tuesday.
