Pennsylvania man allegedly steals vehicle, arrested in Cave City restaurant parking lot

CAVE CITY, Ky. – A Pennsylvania man is charged after allegedly stealing a vehicle.

According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police Post 3 received an attempt locate a vehicle from KSP Post 4 in Elizabethtown on Tuesday.

KSP says the suspect’s cell phone was pinged and located at the McDonald’s parking in Cave City.

The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Joshua Hammond of North East, Pennsylvania, was located inside the vehicle at the parking lot, according to the uniform citation.

Troopers say the vehicle has Pennsylvania registration and was determined to be stolen through the National Crime Information Center.

During the investigation, Hammond allegedly possessed suspected methamphetamine.

Hammond was arrested on charges of receiving stolen property $10,000 or more and first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-offense (methamphetamine).

He was lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
