LEITCHFIELD, Ky. – One man is behind bars following a reported pursuit that ended in Grayson County Monday morning.

According to a report by K105, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Leitchfield police were notified by Ohio County dispatch at 1:27 a.m. of an ongoing pursuit with speeds “over 100 miles per hour” at the 80-mile marker eastbound on Western Kentucky Parkway.

K105 reports the law enforcement agencies responded with multiple “strategic locations along the parkway.”

Ten minutes later, K105 reports Ohio County deputies reported they had lost visual of the fleeing vehicle between Caneyville and Leitchfield.

Around one minute later, authorities say they made contact with the vehicle as the pursuit went on, when police caught up with the driver as he exited the parkway, K105 states.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 30-year-old Jeffrey D. Spadie of Louisville.

According to K105, Spadie continued fleeing in the vehicle until he left the 1600 block of Anneta Road around 1:40 a.m. and was taken into custody.

Spadie was transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center for a blood draw before being lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Spadie was charged with fleeing over evading police (motor vehicle), first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, possession of burglary tools, receiving stolen property, tampering with physical evidence, disregarding a stop sign and persistent felony offender, according to K105.
