HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Two people are injured following a crash in Christian County.
According to a report by WKDZ, the Hopkinsville Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on East 9th Street at 3:53 am Monday.
The Hopkinsville Police Department says a car traveling northbound on South Virginia Street collided with a car traveling eastbound on East 9th Street.
The driver of the first car allegedly fled the scene on foot, according to police.
Two people in the second vehicle were injured and transported to Jennie Stuart Health for treatment. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle for injury treatment.
Police later identified the driver who fled as 23-year-old Desiree Youngblood, of Hopkinsville.
The passengers in Youngblood’s vehicle told police he was angry and ran the red light.
WKDZ says Youngblood was later located on Glass Avenue, where his sister, who owns the vehicle, told police she did not give Youngblood permission to use the vehicle.
Youngblood is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was lodged at the Christian County Jail.
