UPDATE: 1 arrested after allegedly damaging doors, windows at Lost River Elementary

UPDATE (Feb. 17, 3:45 pm) – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says the Bowling Green Police Department responded to a suspicious person call at Lost River Elementary on Monday evening.
According to a release, BGPD received reports that an unknown person was seen on video breaking out windows and doors at the school with a socket wrench.
WCSO says the suspect did not gain entry to the school and had left the scene before police arrived.
The release states that the suspect “severely” damaged three doors and two windows.
WSCO says that it worked closely with BGPD to identify a possible suspect.
Deputies located the suspect and say they confirmed their involvement in the criminal mischief at the school.
WCSO says the man is charged with criminal mischief and was lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.
The release does not identify the suspect.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – An investigation is underway after a Warren County School was vandalized.
According to a letter sent to parents and guardians by Principal Beth Croslin, an act of vandalism occurred at Lost River Elementary School on Monday evening.
Croslin says the school activated safety protocols, and the school and law enforcement contained the scene.
The release states that no students were present at the time of the incident, and there is no threat to staff and student safety.
Croslin says the damage is external and being repaired. She says normal school operations will continue.
Warren County Public Schools Communications Coordinator Lauren Thurmond says the Warren County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an ongoing investigation into the act of vandalism.
Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower has confirmed that one person has been arrested in connection to the incident.
