Columbia police arrest man after reported knife incident

COLUMBIA, Ky. – A Clarksville, Tennessee man was arrested Saturday night after police say a woman was allegedly held at knife point inside a moving vehicle on the Cumberland Parkway.
According to the Columbia Police Department, officers were dispatched around 10:42 p.m. CST on Feb. 7 after receiving reports that a female passenger in a vehicle traveling along the Cumberland Parkway was being threatened with a knife.
Police say officers located the vehicle and conducted an investigation, which resulted in the arrest of 35-year-old Christopher T. Short of Clarksville.
Short is charged with first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree wanton endangerment, carrying a concealed weapon by a prior deadly weapon felony offender, operating on a suspended or revoked license and operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device.
Authorities report that no injuries occurred during the incident.
Following his arrest, Short was transported to the Adair County Regional Jail, where he is being held pending further court proceedings.
The Columbia Police Department led the investigation with assistance from the Adair County Sheriff’s Office.
