WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the death of one of its court security officers, Scott Hansen.

On Friday, the agency shared the sudden loss, stating that Hansen served in the United States Air Force from 1990 to 2010, dedicating 20 years of his life “to the mission and to those he served alongside, retiring as a C-5 Loadmaster.”

After retiring from the Air Force, the WCSO says Hansen continued on to be one of its court security officers, joining in 2023.

On Monday morning, while on duty, authorities say Hansen experienced a medical emergency. He was transported to a Nashville regional hospital, where he died due to that emergency Friday afternoon.

“Hansen was known for his professionalism, steady presence and servant’s heart, and his life was defined by service, his final act of service being the donations of his organs to others in need,” the agency stated.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says its thoughts and prayers are with Hansen’s family, friends and coworkers during this time, including his son, who serves as a patrol deputy with the agency.

The sheriff’s office says a procession will take place Saturday morning, departing from Nashville and traveling north on Interstate 65 to Cemetery Road, continuing to U.S. 31-W Bypass and concluding at J.C. Kirby. The procession is expected to enter Bowling Green around 10 a.m. The WCSO invites those who are able to respectfully line the route to honor Hansen’s life and service.

“Rest easy, 469.”
