Edmonton Water Works shares weather impact on water system

Michigan Reaches $600 Million Flint Water Settlement

EDMONTON, Ky. – Edmonton Water Works customers are being asked to consider the current impact on water services amid winter weather.

According to a social media post by the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Water Works shared the following statement:

“With the extremely cold temperatures, we understand there are a lot of people ripping or running their faucets. This, along with unexpected leaks, has gotten our water system in a dilemma. While we are keeping everyone in water, this could change in an instant. Please, if you can, slow your faucets down or turn them off completely for a brief period of time. Check under and around your homes and property for water. If you see running water where there shouldn’t be, report it. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter as we strive to keep all of our customers supplied with water in these difficult times.”

The update comes while temperatures are below freezing Wednesday, and many residents may be letting faucets drip to prevent frozen pipes.

News 40 will provide additional updates on this situation as they are released.
