BGMU works water main break off of West 12th Avenue

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green Municipal Utilities responded Tuesday for a water main break in downtown Bowling Green.
The water main break happened at 430 W. 12th Ave. and Garfield Street.
Shelley Lowe, marketing coordinator for BGMU, says main breaks are “common this time of year.”
With the cold weather, along with the ground temperature and water temperature inside of the pipe, Lowe says these serve as contributing factors for main breaks.
Lowe says crews will likely have several to repair in the next week.
If you are on the roads while crews happen to be working a main break or other utility work, drivers are reminded to travel cautiously.
