Edmonton man charged after allegedly shooting vehicle

KNOB LICK, Ky. – An Edmonton man is behind bars after allegedly firing a gunshot that struck a vehicle on Thursday.

According to a uniform citation, the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office was contacted Thursday regarding an altercation involving a firearm off of Sulphur Well Center Road in Metcalfe County.

Authorities say it was determined an adult male and his juvenile son were gathering wood on private property when they were confronted by 34-year-old Cory Jessie of Edmonton.

Deputies say the victim reported Jessie had approached him “very aggressively while armed with a metal pip,.” ordering the male and his son to leave the property.

Authorities say the victim stated Jessie then armed himself with a gun and fired several rounds in the “vicinity of both victims,” with at least one round striking the victim’s vehicle.

A gun matching the given description was recovered from the scene, authorities say.

Jessie was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment – discharge of firearm.

He remains at the Barren County Detention Center.

The Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Kentucky State Police in this case.
