Auburn man charged with 150 counts of rape, facing charges in second investigation

AUBURN, Ky. – An Auburn man has been arrested as a result of a sexual abuse investigation.

According to court records, 43-year-old David Scheitlin was arrested on an indictment warrant on Jan. 19 by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

The charges were filed on Jan. 1.

Scheitlin faces charges of 150 counts of rape and one count of third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

Scheitlin was lodged at the Logan County Jail on Jan. 19, where he remains on a $75,000 cash bond.

According to the Logan County Jail website, Scheitlin is scheduled to appear at the Logan County Circuit Court for arraignment on Jan. 22 at 1 p.m.

Logan County Sheriff Stephen Stratton tells WNKY News 40 that Scheitlin is also charged with rape, third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and first-degree sexual abuse in a second investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
