The fire was extinguished by 12:15 p.m., with firefighters conducting an overhaul to ensure no hot spots were still on scene.
In addition, K105 reports a live power line fell on a truck that was parked directly in front of the home. This happened while the fire, which originated in the home’s electrical panel, burned through the wire, according to Leitchfield fire chief Tim Duvall.
A utility employee arrived on scene shortly after and disconnected electricity to the line.
The fire truck was not damaged, according to K105, and no injuries were reported.
Duvall stated the wiring in the home was replaced in approximately the past year, but the wires within the electrical panel were not replaced.
