Man charged with DUI following crash in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man is facing multiple charges following a crash in Bowling Green.

According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded to a collision Wednesday evening at the intersection of Campbell Lane and Walton Avenue.

Police say a motorcycle, driven by 52-year-old Teodulo Garcia Vega, was traveling toward Scottsville Road on Campbell Lane when he ran a red light at the intersection and struck a vehicle.

The citation states Vega then continued traveling before striking another vehicle and stopping.

Authorities say the driver of the first vehicle that was struck was transported a hospital for treatment.

Police say the damage to this vehicle was severe.

According to authorities, Vega had the odor of alcoholic beverages coming from him.

Police say Vega stated he had consumed one drink before later saying it was three or six drinks.

Following standard field sobriety testing, Vega was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for medical evaluation and a blood draw.

Vega remains at the Warren County Regional Jail on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense, and no motorcycle operators license.
