Glasgow man charged after striking pedestrian with vehicle

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department is investigating a vehicle-versus-pedestrian accident.

Major Terry Flatt says officers responded to the accident on Friday evening at the intersection of S L Roger Wells Boulevard and Calvery Drive.

GPD’s preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle operated by Yahir Panzo, of Glasgow, was traveling northbound on Calvary Drive and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto S L Roger Wells Boulevard.

His vehicle struck a pedestrian, Johnathan Peden.

Peden was walking the crosswalk across S L Roger Wells Boulevard.

Peden sustained injuries and was transported to TJ Samson Community Hospital.

Officers arrested Panzo and transported him to the Barren County Detention Center.

Panzo is charged with assault 2nd degree, wanton endangerment 1st degree and no operator/moped license.

The investigation is ongoing.
