Test scores improve at all Metcalfe County Schools

METCALFE COUNTY, Ky. – The Kentucky Department of Education publicly released assessment and accountability data for the 2024-25 school year on Wednesday, which shows students performed better than they have in recent years across several grade levels and subjects, including in Metcalfe County.
Overall scores improved by 2 points at Metcalfe County Elementary School, by almost 11 points at Metcalfe County Middle School, and by 19 points at Metcalfe County High School. Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) results are shared through a color-coded dashboard with five colors: blue, green, yellow, orange, and red, in order from highest to lowest ranking.
“I am pleased and excited with the direction Metcalfe County Schools is heading academically,” superintendent Josh Hurt said. “These numbers show improvement overall at each school and in many cases, tremendous growth. I am especially proud that each building is in either Green or Blue and is improving statistically in Quality of School Climate and Safety. These numbers further emphasize that our students, staff, and community are working together to ensure we thrive in our three key focus areas: ‘Learning, Safety, Student Experience.'”
KSA scores are always available on the district’s website, www.metcalfeschools.com, along with a link to the complete Kentucky School Report Card dashboard.
